Suboxone Treatment in Atlanta Suburbs

Suboxone treatment (as part of an overall treatment plan) is utilized by our Atlanta addiction treatment center for heroin, fentanyl, and other prescription narcotics. Determining if Suboxone and MAT care is right for you involves a full medical evaluation and appraisal of your substance use history, medical history, and other considerations. Typically, clients with a long history of dangerous opioid addiction, chronic relapse benefit the most because the medicine eases cravings and withdrawal symptoms. At the same time, the combination medication will thwart the effects of opioids should a patient attempt to “use”.

What is Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)?

OUD is a chronic brain disorder produced by the continuing use of opioids, including prescription opioids, and street drugs like heroin and Fentanyl. Opioid use disorder includes dysfunction of the brain reward system, motivation, memory, and related circuitry and is reflected in individuals chasing reward and/or relief by opioids. As with other chronic diseases, the clinical course of OUD includes phases of aggravation and reduction, but the untreated person is never disease-free without medical and clinical intervention.
